Humans tend to notice or be drawn to things that move. Movement catches our eye.<\/p>\n

So it\u2019s no wonder that the magic of movement is making an impact on animated logo design.<\/p>\n

The Use of Animated Logo Design is on the Rise.<\/h2>\n

When we talk about animated logos, we\u2019re not just talking about a figure moving across the screen or a symbol exploding onto it.<\/p>\n

As the animated logo design field has grown and expanded, so too has\u00a0the ingenuity in creating new logos<\/a> that are one-of-a-kind and will be remembered.<\/p>\n

Listed below are five of the most unique and \u201ccolorful\u201d elements in animated logo design.<\/p>\n

1. The expansion<\/h3>\n

Keeping a brand dynamic is challenging. Especially when it has to stay in limited parameters.<\/p>\n

Animation allows for freedom from this. An animated logo can fit within any dimension or scale. From there it can grow or shrink, as needed.<\/p>\n

An architecture firm found the use of an expanding and contracting animated logo within a grid to be a great metaphor for the work they do.<\/p>\n

A furniture designer who works with wood decided to have his logo expand <\/a>by adding lines and layers of plywood one at a time to build toward the finished product. Another great metaphor.<\/p>\n

2.\u00a0The rotation<\/h3>\n

An investment company<\/a> with an \u201cX\u201d in their name has an animated logo where the \u201cX\u201d rotates, as well a rises upwards and to the right. They all indicate profit.<\/p>\n

The \u201cX\u201d turned sideways indicates addition. On its side it\u2019s multiplication.\u00a0And when it rises up and to the right, there\u2019s that additional nod to \u201cmoving on up.\u201d<\/p>\n

But rotating elements can also give animated logo design a playfulness.<\/p>\n

There\u2019s a company with the word \u201cTime\u201d in its name. They\u2019re actually a duo of\u00a0directors who specialize in comedic short films and their static logo is that of a clock.<\/p>\n

But their\u00a0animated logo puts all of the\u00a0elements of that clock into a silly and rapid spin. It takes the modest logo and turns it into something wacky and fun.<\/p>\n

3. The hide and reveal<\/h3>\n

Whether it\u2019s a magic show, a joke or a story, we\u2019re all waiting for the \u201cbig reveal.\u201d<\/p>\n

A company with a two part name<\/a> starts\u00a0their animated logo cycle with the first letters of their name. The two letters sit for a little bit\u00a0until they slide\u00a0wide enough apart to allow\u00a0the other letters in to fill out the whole name.<\/p>\n

It makes for a seamless transition between their full name and their \u201cshorthand\u201d name.<\/p>\n

4. The\u00a0transformation<\/h3>\n

Many are the logo designers who\u2019ve been asked to put two elements of a business into a logo. A big order for a static logo, but much easier with animated logo design.<\/p>\n

Now designers can believably morph two elements such as a microphone into musical notes, the company name into its product,\u00a0even an elephant into a coffee cup.<\/p>\n

5.\u00a0The rearrangement<\/h3>\n

Moving existing logo elements around into different compositions can be very effective.<\/p>\n

Especially if you\u2019re a modular home company. Their animated logo is actually built of individual modules that come together and rearrange themselves in a central location on the grid. It\u2019s perfect.<\/p>\n
