Well, during this article we\u2019re going to expose the stories behind nine of these fashion house logos.<\/p>\n<p>That way you can know with confidence the background of the logo you\u2019re proudly displaying on your clothes.<\/p>\n<p>They say it only takes customers<a href=\"https:\/\/www.crowdspring.com\/blog\/successful-branding-for-entrepreneurs-statistics\/\" rel=\"nofollow\"> ten seconds <\/a>to judge a brand\u2019s logo. However, we can only assume this applies when the consumers aren\u2019t in possession of the full facts. We wonder whether it\u2019ll still take you ten secs to form an opinion after hearing what we have to say.<\/p>\n<p>So, with that in mind, let\u2019s dive on in!<\/p>\n<h2>1.) Versace<\/h2>\n<p>As some of you may already know, the scary looking woman in Versace\u2019s logo is Medusa. On the face of things, this seems like an odd choice.<\/p>\n<p>However, it\u2019s her transformation from something horrific into the goddess Athena that inspired Gianni Versace\u2019s logo. This was a shrewd move on his part because it evoked a sense of fascination with the brand, as well as an air of authority.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s believed that Donatella Versace said that the logo came to be because whoever falls in love with Medusa, can\u2019t go back! Hence, suggesting that the brand would have the same effect on its customers.<\/p>\n<p>This notion\u2019s kinda creepy, but intriguing at the same time. A clever bit of branding if ever there was one!<\/p>\n<h2>2.) Chanel<\/h2>\n<p>One of the myths behind Chanel\u2019s logo is that it represents the relationship Chanel had with a man called Boy Capel. Rumour has it; he was the love of Chanel\u2019s life, and he funded her first ever boutiques.<\/p>\n<p>However, there was never a formal business contract made between the two of them that bound them together. Likewise, no marriage certificate ever solidified their relationship.<\/p>\n<p>Hence, the double C logo is supposed to reflect the fact that Chanel and Capel spent their lives overlapping but never fully facing one another- which is why the C\u2019s are positioned back to back.<\/p>\n<h2>3.) Rolex<\/h2>\n<p>We love this one.<\/p>\n<p>Rolex\u2019s logo is an extension of their slogan; \u201cA Crown for Every Achievement.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>What a lovely tribute to self-confidence, self-motivation, and perfectionism. Naturally, these three characteristics are things most of us strive for!<\/p>\n<h2>4.) Alexander McQueen<\/h2>\n<p>Now, this logo may seem deceptively simple. However, by placing the \u2018c\u2019 inside the \u2018Q,\u2019 they\u2019re hinting at the potential for the brand to grow. Hence foreshadowing the powerhouse this fashion brand\u2019s become.<\/p>\n<h2>5.) Hollister<\/h2>\n<p>For those of you who don\u2019t already know, Hollister\u2019s brand\u2019s based on a character called John M. Hollister. However, this guy is entirely fictional!<\/p>\n<p>This boy was said to of spent his days surfing and chilling at the beach. So, as an adult, he opened a store in California and named it after himself.<\/p>\n<p>This was a smart piece of marketing because this fictitious story generated interest and made the brand stand out from its competitors.<\/p>\n<h2>6.) Nike<\/h2>\n<p>The Nike \u201cSwoosh\u201d is internationally recognized and donned by thousands of Nike fans across the world.<\/p>\n<p>This logo was designed by Carolyn Davidson, a graphic design student studying at Portland State University. It\u2019s rumored that the founder of Nike, Phil Knight didn\u2019t particularly like any of the designs Davidson came up with.<\/p>\n<p>However, as they were running out of time he selected the \u201cSwoosh\u201d and said; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.highsnobiety.com\/2014\/05\/12\/the-inspirations-behind-20-of-the-most-important-designs-in-streetwear\/\" rel=\"nofollow\">\u201cI don\u2019t love it, but it will grow on me.\u201d<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Little did he know that this logo would eventually achieve global recognition!<\/p>\n<p>At the time, Caryln earned $35 for her original designs back in the early 70\u2019s. However, she later received considerable stock options in the company once the business took off.<\/p>\n<h2>7.) Superdry<\/h2>\n<p>Have you ever wondered what the Japanese characters mean on their logo?<\/p>\n<p>Well apparently, they say: \u201ckyokudo kanso (shinasai),\u201d When translated, this says \u2018maximum dry,\u2019 followed by the word \u2018do\u2019 placed in brackets.<\/p>\n<p>From this, we can assume this is a weak attempt at writing \u2018Do Superdry\u2019 in Japanese.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s funny to think of corporate geniuses crowding over a Japnese to English dictionary trying to work it out for themselves, without hiring a consultant with real knowledge of the language!<\/p>\n<h2>8.) Air Jordan III<\/h2>\n<p>Did you know the logo used for these shoes was taken from a still photograph,? Jordan wasn\u2019t even dunking!<\/p>\n<p>He was standing and jumping with his legs apart. There was no running and taking off involved. Instead, it was a glorified ballet move with a basketball!<\/p>\n<p>Needless to say, however, they managed it. The logo looks fantastic! It\u2019s just funny to think of how this logo was staged.<\/p>\n<h2>9.) Lacoste<\/h2>\n<p>You might know this already, but the Lacoste alligator came to be because of the tennis player, Ren? Lacoste. He was the world\u2019s number one player between 1926 and 1927 and was nicknamed \u201cThe Alligator\u201d by the press.<\/p>\n<p>He got this tag because Lacoste had a bet going with the French Davis Cup captain involving an alligator skin suitcase.<\/p>\n<p>However, when he came back to France, the alligator became a crocodile, and the tennis star became famously known as \u201cthe Crocodile.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>This triggered a friend of his to draw a crocodile for him, of which he embroidered on a blazer.
