LOGO INSPIRATION
Posted on January 19, 2012 by Tope
Without any speck of doubt, works of lasting legacy are most of the time, principally, direct products of inspiration.
Inspiration permeates every aspect of human life. The brilliant poet, the astute business man, the inventor, and pioneers in fields such as science and engineering derive ideas and strength from times of inspiration. The several wonders that have been conceived by man over the millennia can be traced to seasons of unique “flashes” on the mind, gradual assimilation, or a particular motivating power. The world’s greatest logos are not left out too! They are definitely shoots from minds fertilized by inspiration.
Candidly, there is no stereotyped route to the orbit of inspiration. Over the years, several people have been inspired in diverse ways. Several great and highly revered minds that have tread our planet experienced inspiration in unique ways. It can erupt from innate passion, quiet, religion, the beauty of nature and life, happiness, love, persona, music, community, friendship, ambience, great challenges, even adversity, among several others.
Overall, in the sphere of logo creation, just like in other fields of human endeavor, inspiration is indispensable in the pursuit of excellence. Whatever generates it, the end is that: the logo must emerge exceedingly enthralling!

THE MAKING OF FAMOUS BRANDS

Of course we are not unfamiliar with brands that rule our world. Some have been in vogue for centuries, while others sprang up just in a space of decades or even less than that. As a matter of fact, the manufacturers of these brands have over the years succeeded in carving out quite a number of peculiarities for which they are known today.
As brands such as Coca Cola, Apple, Adidas, Pfizer, Nike, Microsoft, Toyota, and Mercedes-Benz among several others continue to blaze the trail across the globe; upcoming entrepreneurs should not forget that the founders of these great corporations started small. However, they developed lasting vision. In point of fact, many of them were not very much particular about initial gain. They were ready to sacrifice the “now” for a great future and that has made them into the corporate celebrities that they are today.
Another peculiar point to note about a good number of these great organizations is that quite a number of them still maintain the logos instituted by the founder(s). And over the years, these designs as simple as some appear to be, have become entrenched on the mind of several millions of people worldwide. This actually connotes strength of purpose and existence of enduring legacies.

FITNESS LOGOS

Without doubt, physical fitness therapy has been with man since ancient times; and images such as logos have been instrumental to the propagation of the necessity of raising healthier people in society through physical fitness programs. In modern times, fitness centers have gained better recognition, and more of their merits are being discovered almost on a daily basis as a result of advancement in medical science and also, physical and health studies.
However, due to the wide occurrence of obesity in recent times; which has resulted in widespread demand for weight loss or fitness therapies, most people have reduced physical fitness to only “weight loss”. On the other hand, Ulrich Celeste, Professor at the College of Health, Physical Education and Recreation, Oregon University defined Physical fitness as “the ability of the human body to function with vigor and alertness, without undue fatigue, and with ample energy to engage in leisure activities, and to meet physical stresses”. He further expressed that “Muscular strength and endurance, cardiorespiratory integrity, and general alertness are the overt signs of physical fitness”.
But even with the increasing popularity of physical fitness courses, many are yet to come to terms with its essentiality. It appears most people only commit themselves to it after they find themselves in health problems; whereas, exercises and other fitness schedules should be a part of everyone’s daily life. And to the logo designers, there is more to do in order to give fitness centers and programs the best imagery that will depict how vital a good physical fitness plan, diligently adhered to, can be to healthy living.

CONSTRUCTION LOGOS

Just imagine a world without houses, bridges and other inventions of the construction industry! No doubt, construction is as old as man; and great, breath taking creations such as the seven wonders of the ancient world and the Great Wall of China, coupled with several ancient monuments have graced our planet over the centuries. In modern times, skyscrapers dot skylines of several cities in different nations; and no doubt, feats in construction are increasing at an enthralling rate.
As the construction industry continues to boom with rising exposure to hi-tech, the industry, like others, needs befitting image representation that can portray its value to our world. No doubt, an apt logo is germane to the success of every construction firm because the logo speaks; and it may be the first ‘official’ a client would come across! Hence, in addition to other factors such as quality service delivery and adoption of proper ethics that guarantee success, the logo’s role is still indispensable.
Obviously, in the present day world, graphic design has also experienced the ‘Midas touch’ of technology; and for this reason, the construction industry must cease the ample opportunity as a principal stimulus of our physical environment, to depict itself to the world. This can indeed be achieved by crafting and showcasing engrossing logos!
